Alex Chung is a California state licensed acupuncturist and herbalist. He completed his Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) at the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College (AIMC) in Berkeley, CA. Alex also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology (emphasizing in Biology) from UC Davis. While at AIMC, Alex received extensive training in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chinese and Japanese acupuncture, herbal medicine, and Tui Na Massage (Chinese meridian manipulation therapy). In addition, Alex has been trained by his father, Dr. Frank Chung, LAc, OMD., the founder of The Acupuncture Center. Since childhood, Alex was exposed to his father’s acupuncture techniques and herbal treatments.
Currently, Alex joins his father in practice and is continuing the tradition of serving the community through healthcare. With his unique blend of education and training, Alex combines a gentle and comforting approach to acupuncture, providing positive results and relief to both the body and mind. Alex’s clinical experience includes his internship at the AIMC clinic and herbal dispensary, and practicing at the Integrative and Sports Medicine Center in Sunnyvale, CA, where he focused on treating sports injuries. In addition, he has experience treating multiple medical conditions, including acute/chronic pain, asthma, headache/migraines, anxiety, depression and stress reduction.
Alex’s outside interests include enjoying sporting events, and practicing tai chi. Alex grew up in the East Bay Area and attended College Prep (CPS) in Oakland, CA.
